RideWatch Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
RideWatch is a DoFunBiz product. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the RideWatch mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Parent name, email address, and password
- Teen rider name provided by the parent
- GPS location and speed data during active rides only
- Accelerometer data for crash detection during rides only
- Ride history including duration, distance, and safety scores
- Device push notification tokens for safety alerts
- Subscription and purchase status (for example, whether a plan is active, and which plan). On iOS, payment itself is handled entirely by Apple through In-App Purchase — we do not collect or store your card number or payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide real-time ride safety monitoring for families
- Send parents alerts for speed violations, crashes, and arrivals
- Display ride history and safety scores
- Recognize and manage active subscriptions so paid features unlock correctly
- Improve the safety features of the app
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
RideWatch is designed for families. Teen riders use the app under parental supervision and with explicit parental consent.
- Teen accounts are created and controlled by parents
- We do not collect data from minors without parental consent
- Parents can view, modify, or delete their teen's data at any time
- We do not serve advertisements to any users

- Teen location data is only shared with the verified parent account
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase for database storage and authentication
- Apple, through the App Store's In-App Purchase system, to process subscription payments. Apple handles your payment details directly — RideWatch never receives your card information.
- RevenueCat, a subscription management platform, to track which subscription plan is active on your account. RevenueCat receives your subscription/product identifiers and an internal account identifier, but not your name, email, or payment details.
- Expo for push notification delivery
- Google Maps for location geocoding
- Legal authorities if required by law
5. Location Data
- Location is only collected when a teen starts a ride session
- Live location is only visible to the linked parent account
- We do not share location data with any third parties
- Parents can delete ride history at any time
6. Data Security
- All data transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
- Teen PINs are stored as SHA-256 cryptographic hashes
- Sensitive credentials stored in encrypted device storage
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us below.
8. Your Rights

- As a parent, view and delete your teen's data at any time
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt-out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy.
